BOOK REVIEWS

We are currently open for book review submissions of books that relate to the themes LTR focuses on. For forthcoming books, please send a pitch of a maximum of 300 words, outlining your interest in the book and how you hope to approach the review to liminaltransitreview@gmail.com, along with a couple of links to previous reviews. We also accept book reviews of books that have already been published. For these books, please email the full review to us at liminaltransitreview@gmail.com.

We aim to respond within two weeks. Please feel free to follow up if it has been longer.

POETRY, FICTION, CREATIVE NONFICTION

We are back open for submissions after a long hiatus! Please email all submissions to liminaltransitreview@gmail.com, with your name and the genre in the subject title. Submissions for our June 2025 issue will be open Jan 5, 2025 to March 5, 2025and submissions for our December issue will be open from July 5, 2025-September 5, 2025.

Submission guidelines:

  • Up to five poems, 10 pages of cross-genre work, or 3,000 words of prose. Multiple flash fiction or nonfiction pieces are allowed if their total word count is under 3,000 words.
  • Attach all submissions as a single document (Word or PDF) in 12-point Garamond or Calibri. Prose (fiction and creative nonfiction) must be double-spaced.
  • Simultaneous submissions are allowed. Please email us immediately at liminaltransitreview [at] gmail [dot] com if your work is accepted elsewhere.
  • Multiple submissions are not allowed. Please submit once per issue and in only one genre. 
  • Include trigger or content warnings if needed.
  • Translations are not accepted at this time.
  • Please do not submit to us again until after you have heard back on your first submission.

We aim to respond to all submissions for the June issue by April 15, 2025 and the December issue by October 15, 2025.

Liminal Transit Review is a volunteer literary journal. We do not charge submission fees and are not a paying journal at this time.

Liminal Transit Review asks for first North American serial rights, and all rights revert to the author on publication.
